Roadway Improvements Along MD-233 | Piscataway Road

DRB is supporting major transportation upgrades to improve traffic flow and safety, including:

  • Enhancements at the MD-223 (Piscataway Road) and Old Branch Ave intersection

  • Participation in the South County Roadway improvement program

  • Planned construction of key improvements such as:

    • A new southbound lane on MD-223 from north of Temple Hills Road to Glen View Drive

    • Updated turning lanes at community access points

    • A setback shared-use path for safer walking and biking

    • Dedicated bike lanes along MD-223

New Trailhead for Tinkers Creek Trail

  • A new trailhead with parking for up to 10 cars will be built near Piscataway Road and the proposed MD-703.

  • It will be dedicated to the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and provide convenient public access to the Tinkers Creek Trail.

Enhanced Streetscape & Wayfinding

  • Streetscape improvements along the community’s Piscataway Road frontage

  • Wayfinding signage to help residents and visitors easily reach nearby local points of interest
